Spawn at 304, 0 is plain grassland, so use it to gather basics before heading out. The nearest rare thing is a Flower Forest about 128 blocks away, handy for dye and bonemeal flowers. Ocean and stony shore lie about 64 blocks off, so wood, food and a boat are quick. The shipwreck at 232, -312 is a short sail, and the ancient city at 184, 472 is the far trip worth planning for.
