Woodland Mansion Finder

Woodland mansions sit on the widest grid of any structure and are often thousands of blocks from spawn. Enter a seed and version and this page searches 4,096 blocks around spawn, listing the closest mansions it finds with their coordinates. If none turn up, open the seed in the Seed Map and look further out before you commit to the journey.

Why mansions are so far apart

Mansions roll once per 80×80-chunk region, which is 1,280×1,280 blocks. As with monuments, its position is two random rolls averaged per axis, so it leans toward the middle of the region's first 60 chunks, and neighboring mansions usually end up about a region apart. The spot must also be dark forest, which many regions do not have at all.

From 1.18 on, the game also tests the ground under the building's corners, so a dark forest on low ground can still miss out. Bedrock uses the same 80-chunk spacing.

What waits inside

Apart from raids, mansions are the only source of evokers, and every evoker drops a totem of undying, which is the main reason to make the trip. Vindicators patrol the halls, allays sit in jail-cell rooms, and some rooms are hidden behind walls. Chests hold enchanted books, golden apples, name tags and the Vex armor trim.

Go in prepared for a fight. Vindicators hit hard with axes, and evokers attack with fangs that rise out of the floor and summon vexes that fly through walls. A shield, a bow and a few healing potions help, and so does dealing with each evoker before its vexes pile up.

Planning the journey

A mansion 3,000 blocks out is a long walk, so pack a bed and food and mark the route. The Nether is quicker: divide the X and Z from this list by 8, travel to that point in the Nether, build a portal there, and you come out close to the mansion. Cartographer villagers also sell woodland explorer maps if you would rather follow a map.

Why does the list say there is no mansion within 4,096 blocks?

That search box is about six mansion regions across, and every attempt in it either fell outside dark forest or failed the ground check. Mansions do exist further out; zoom out in the Seed Map, or use the seed finder to choose a seed with one nearby.
